Marine Corps History

I spent eight years of my life serving in the United States Marine Corps. This video gives you a glimpse of what life is like from the time a recruit arrives either at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, South Carolina or Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. The recruit is quickly indoctrinated and stripped of individuality for the benefit of the recruit, brotherhood of the Marine Corps and our nation. We put God, country and Marine Corps first before ourselves.

As a Marine, we are first of all branches of the United States military to fight in any conflict. During World War I, the Marines were given the nick name Devil Dog by a German soldier on his dying breath because we fight like fierce dogs. During World War II, the Japanese thought that Marines were a bunch of lunatics and escaped convicts.

The History of the Vought F4U Corsair

The Vought F4U Corsair is rich in military aviation history. It was a fighter that primarily was used towards the end of WWII and in the Korean War. It was a capable of being launched from a carrier and was loaded to the teeth with 20mm cannons and later anti aircraft bombs. With all these heavy armament, it was still one of the fastest fighter aircraft of its time. Many Japanese pilots considered the Corsair the most dominant American fighter aircraft of World War II. It was such a sought after aircraft that Vought could not keep up with production.

The History of The Battleship Potemkin

This is a silent video of the Battleship Potemkin. This silent video is about a mutiny that happened during the 1905 Russian uprising aboard the Russian Prince ship Potemkin. This dramatization was made in 1925. The men aboard this ship were subject to intense brutality at the hands of the ship officers.
