Spiritual Differences Between Buddhist and Hindu Religion

The most significant difference between Hinduism and Buddhism is in the Hindu religion, whereas the people believe in many “Gods”. The Hindu “Gods” seemed to be created in stories and in people’s images. Consequently, Buddhists believe in the Buddha or “the enlightened one” , born approximately 560 BCE. 

The Hindu religion believes there are Gods that created a sequence of events to create the heavens and the earth that date back to the beginning of time. Stories were created in the Hindu religion about “Gods” and their roles on earth. “We, desiring to produce beings of many kinds from his own body, first with a thought created the waters, and place his seed in them.”

Last summer, my wife and I went to Victoria, British Columbia by way of Seattle, Washington and the Washington State Ferry system. I brought along paper maps but I had a very old and outdated GPS system. The system could not pick up any streets in Victoria and my paper map was no help because I had no idea of the orientation of where I was once we left the ferry dock in Sydney, British Columbia. We spent over an hour on the phone with the time share receptionist trying to navigate our way through Victoria to the time share. It was on a street that was only 500 feet long between three main streets.

One of the more frustrating travel times with my old outdated GPS systems was a trip from Indianapolis, Indiana to Chicago O’Hare airport. The system would not pick up anything outside state lines until we reached the state line.

With rising energy costs, it is necessary to explore all options for sustainable and renewable energy with out endangering our wildlife. In 2007, renewable green power energy has come to the forefront in Pacific Northwest. Researchers and scientist are attempting to develop alternative sources to conventional energy. Most recent studies are focused on wind, underwater turbines which includes buoys and tidal power. The Role of Women in Society

During the Enlightenment, women were looked upon as prone to vice, insatiable, and easily swayed. Their opinions meant little and their place was in the home. However, in the wake of the Enlightenment, women were starting to overcome the previous idea that they were a liability and not a voice of reason. Women debaters started to argue that women can use rational thought and can also grow with education. However, little had changed, and men used science to find ways to disprove the theories that women had a place in society. Men were even able to take over the role of midwives; however the midwives were still able to practice with the lower classes, as professionals were not needed to serve these individuals.
