According to Amanda Gardner HealthDay Reporter, "THURSDAY, July 15 (HealthDay News) -- One day after a U.S. advisory panel recommended that the controversial diabetes drug Avandia stay on the market -- albeit with added restrictions -- several medical organizations are urging patients not to change their medications before consulting a health-care professional. Some experts expect the use of Avandia to drop off markedly, however.
"Why give a drug with restrictions when a similar drug which has studies that did not show the bad outcomes of Avandia could be used instead," said Dr. Jacob Warman, chief of endocrinology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City. "I don't see anybody willing to take Avandia when they could take Actos."
Actos (pioglitazone) is a drug similar to Avandia, one of the same class of medications known as thiazolidinediones (TZDs)." For more information see: Diabetics Urged to Confer With Their Doctor About Avandia Use

According to MMV Abad In the Philippines, while rich and powerful people get the most privileges, little people are deprived of almost everything- and would you believe even with their government doctors?
I work as a pharmacist in a generic drugstore designed for people who want cheaper medicines. Every day, I talk to customers explaining to them the difference between the generic and branded drugs. Most of my customers are from the lower class- still ignorant and in need of assistance regarding the concept of medicine. Sadly, these people usually undergo self medication- bad that they are not being diagnosed by a registered physician and worse that they are always buying the wrong medicine for their ailments. Coping with a Crisis: Stress Can Drive to Breaking Point

According to Mr Ghaz It can be important to recognize when you can’t cope and need to find somebody who can. If someone is very panicky you need to help him calm down. If he is talking of killing himself you need to take this seriously. But these emergencies are rare. You are more likely to be trying to help someone who is quietly desperate and who needs help to talk about his problems.
If a person is very panicky you will need to help him calm down. Touch him in some way – hold his hand or put your arm round him. Reassure him that you will stay and that he will soon be able to control his panic. Get him to do something such as sit down, lie down or come for a walk. If you know how to relax quickly try teaching him how to do it. Don’t get him to take a lot of deep breaths or he will get dizzy and feel more panicky. He might like you to massage his back and shoulders. When he calms down he will probably want to talk a lot. But if he is exhausted he may fall asleep.Read on for more: Coping with a Crisis: Stress Can Drive to Breaking Point
